School Of Veterinary Medicine,NTU.
The Project is teaching and research laboratories for veterinary science. Design expression takes cue from animal bone composition, with emphasis on column and beam joints as body joints. Exterior and interior spaces also reflect relationship to the site and internal needs. As a criticism towards the lack of transition between interior and exterior for most buildings in the campus, this design provides a semi-outdoor arcade and a lit-courtyard at basement level. Two major materials used in the campus, 13-grooved face tile and exposed-aggregate concrete, and applied with emphasis of verticality of structure and precision requirements.
