The client’s business is to provide services as well as software for library system, and the building is mainly used as offices. The site is of an irregular shape with two sides facing streets. In order to provide a complete and usable floor plate for office use, elevator, stair, toilets, and pantry are placed at one corner. Such arrangement also wholeness to the street-facing elevations.The exterior wall mainly consists of mainly glass curtain wall; a low-E glass with elegant hue is selected. Horizontal bands are fritted on spandrel glasses and toilet areas, and shadows on back panels provide interesting contrast to the transparency of vision glasses. Stone elements are provided like bookmark or index card, also serve as metaphor of the client’s business. Light emits behind these stone elements in nighttime, and creates interesting and abstract effects.
