National Taiwan University Glasshouse
The Project is a 10-room unitized glasshouse for the reseach of College of Life Science. Despite its limited size, it is located at one corner of the Main Campus, which faces two busy transportation spines of the City although a remote corner segregated from main activity center by staff dormitories.
The design aims to apply lightweight and transparent construction, but also features of the campus, such as the dark beige face bricks, images of some most wellknown buildings, so as to create a new but familiar campus image for this urban exposure.
Ground floor is for support facilities such as office, meeting room, lobby, process area, and mechanical room. The first floor is for 10 glasshouse units of 4.2 x 9.6 meters, including 7 water screen and 3 air-conditioned units. The design aims to be flexible for researchers' adaptation.
